Who insures the chauffeur?
It is the responsibilty of each client to ensure their chauffeur is covered by a fully comprehensive motor insurance policy for every trip. Many companies allow any driver over 25 or 30 years old to be insured but please check with your own policy.
Does my chauffeur need the certificate of insurance?
No, the chauffeur will arrive at the agreed start time with a declaration for you to sign stating that they are covered by a fully comprehensive motor policy to drive your vehicle. The chauffeurs are self-employed and you are employing them on a temporary basis.
Do I pay the chauffeur?
No, the chauffeur will ask you to sign a time sheet for each journey. We then send an invoice in the post to either a personal or business address.
Do I pay for the chauffeur's travelling time to me?
No, the chauffeur is respnsible for their travelling time to & from the meeting place.
Can I pay by credit card?
Yes, we have a paypal account & we are able to send an invoice via email. You do not need a paypal account to pay with this method & can use either a credit or debit card. Please ask for this type of invoice when making your booking.
Do I tip the chauffeur?
Any tips are a private matter between you & your chauffeur.
Do I need to have a luxury car to use this service?
No, as long as the vehicle is in a roadworthy condition, has a current Excise Licence & where necessary has a current Test Certificate.
I need to be at the airport very early in the morning, is that OK?
Yes, there is no problem with early starts or late finishes. We do have a minimum charge for airport runs:
Gatwick - 3hrs & Heathrow 4hrs
What happens to my car while I'm on holiday?
Your vehicle can be returned to your house. Between us we make arrangements for the keys until the return trip.
When I'm collected at an airport, will the chauffeur come to the arrivals lounge to meet me?
We do offer a meet & greet service or your chauffeur can meet you outside the terminal with your vehicle. They will display an IDRIVE U sign to look out for.
Will you charge me more after midnight or at weekends?
No, we charge £14.50+VAT for every hour regardless of the time or day of the year.
How much notice do you need to arrange a chauffeur?
As much as possible please. Please bear in mind that major sporting events held at Twickenham, Wembley, Henley-on-Thames, Millennium Stadium, Lord's, Royal Ascot, The Goodwood Festival of Speed, Wimbledon, Glorious Goddwood and Cheltenham are a very commitment to our service so early booking is advised.
Can my destination be a different place to the start of the journey?
Yes, as long as the chauffeur can easily make their way back from the destination to their own vehicle. All expenses will be added to the invoice.
What happens to my car & the chauffeur while I am at the function?
The chauffeur looks after your vehicle & waits for your call for your onward journey.
Can my trip involve an overnight stay?
Yes, you will need to arrange & pay for suitable accommodation & meals for the chauffeur.
What will my chauffeur wear?
Your chauffeur will be smartly dressed and suitable for the event you are attending.
Can I smoke in my vehicle?
No, your vehicle becomes the chauffeur's place of work & is, therefore, a smoke-free area. (please see smoking page for details)
Will you pay the congestion charge?
If you would like us to pay the congestion charge we can add the cost to your invoice.
